The energy system around the South Baltic Sea Area needs to be updated in terms of efficiency, security and organizational capability. This is true not only to meet the EU environmental targets, but also to boost the economic growth in the area.
InnoHeat, short for ‘Innovations in District Heating’, gathers partners from Poland, Lithuania, Germany and Sweden to analyze the current status of distribution networks and facilities, and suggest upgrading possibilities to meet modern standards.
The project partners are operational district heating companies, naional DH associations, academic institutions and regional partners.
During the three phases of the project, the partners will develop methods for improvements and suggest upgrades in organizational management and technology. The final project phase will focus on matching investment projects with potential investors.
InnoHeat is part-financed by the European Union through the South Baltic Programme and runs over a period of three years (2011-2014).
